Success Spotlight: Meet Jeff

Jeff Gregus has built a successful career at Hy-Vee in Shakopee, where he has been a valued team member for the past nine years. He began his journey as a produce clerk before transitioning to a courtesy clerk role, and more recently, he has expanded his skills through cashier training. Today, Jeff works in a hybrid courtesy and cashier position, where he enjoys helping customers and continuing to learn new aspects of the business. His commitment to growth and willingness to take on new challenges have made him an important part of the Hy-Vee team.

Jeff has been connected with MRCI since 2005. After completing a job search with support from MRCI, he continued receiving long-term employment support services. Reflecting on his experience, Jeff shared, “MRCI has been helpful in advancing me in my career and helping me set goals and achieve them and helping me be a more open person.”

Jeff’s dedication and positive attitude have not gone unnoticed by his employer. Ren Pigsley, Human Resources at Hy-Vee, shared, “Jeff truly embodies Hy-Vee’s ‘Smile in Every Aisle’ philosophy. Rachel Passe, MRCI Employment Specialist, has had the opportunity to work alongside Jeff for the past five years and has witnessed his continued growth and success. “I've had the pleasure of working with Jeff on and off for the past five years, and it has been amazing to see all the milestones and success he has accomplished along the way. It's clear how much Hy-Vee values and counts on him. Over the years, Jeff has continued to push himself to grow, take on new opportunities, and this year he finally took that next step into cashiering, something he has truly been enjoying. Jeff is always willing to help anyone in any way he can, and he does a wonderful job communicating with others, expressing his needs, and sharing the goals he wants to work toward. I'm incredibly proud of how far he has come and excited to see his continued success.”

Throughout his employment journey, Jeff has continued to challenge himself by learning new skills, gaining knowledge, and becoming more open to new opportunities.
